What are the indicators for using a regression analysis? Create a research scenario in which it would be correct to use a regression analysis, including the research question, sample size, and dependent and independent variables?
Below is a Sample Solution.

Regression analysis shows the associations that exists in two or more variables. The use of regression analysis describes the associations between dependent and independent variables. Regression analysis generates regression equation, the equation contains coefficient which shows the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable.
Research Question example;
How does the body weight affect the level of blood cholesterol?
independent variable- Body weight
dependent variable – blood cholesterol level.
In order to answer such a research question, the researcher measures the body weights and level of blood cholesterol in 20 samples. He then conducts a linear regression analysis to show whether independent variable- Body weight affects dependent variable – blood cholesterol level.
When you check the regression coefficient, when the p value is less than 0.05 (P<0.05) the independent variable is significant and when the p vale is greater than 0.05 ( P> 0.05) , the independent variable is insignificant. the independent variable being significant means that it is true that body weight affects the blood cholesterol level and vice-versa for insignificant.
