I will be answering this question, by citing the most challenging question I have encountered when I was applying as an assistant System Manager on a respective cruise line. The Human resource office asked me this particular question. “What are your weaknesses in terms of handling people and assets?”. The answer that I replied was “I don’t have any particular weakness since I am knowledgable in my field of expertise and I can handle all sorts of people with different personalities.”
As I recall, my answer seems unrealistic and I should have answered more honestly. If I were to answer that question today I would respond with ” My weakness are I easily trust people and tend to rely on them easily which resulted in situations that my personal relationship with them affected our work relationship and work performance. I should have set boundaries and not to be lenient all the time.” However, I want to accept those weaknesses since it can make me a better person.”
If have uttered those words during that interview, I might as well be hired for the position. I hope my experience helped you to answer your question.
