State licensure policies and policies that regulate health related practices are affecting my practicum work . These policies are serving as a barrier and are preventing me to take education and training to the fullest extent . Licensure and practice laws vary according to every state and many of them do not maintain objectives of giving full practice authority to students . Full practice authority means to allow the students to attain a license , allow them to practice so they can effectively diagnose , interpret and initiate treatments . However , many policies do not allow us these privileges so the organization has found certain ways to help us do our practicum work . One of the many solutions is to allow us to get temporary licenses . The licenses are unique and we are allowed to get them under strict restrictions and conditions . We ‘re allow to get these licenses until we obtain an active – practicing license . These licenses allow us to improve our work experience and at the same time allow us to improve our competency at work while maintaining high standards of service . The organization also monitors policy implementation and ensures compliance by regularly monitoring our licenses and as soon as they expire we are required to do a refresher course .
