The approach that I would say would work best for me was discussed in Chapter 20 . There are three types of leadership , autocratic , democratic , and paternalistic . Autocratic essentially is when the leader makes decisions without regard to anyone , democratic is essentially when decisions are made by a leader through the approval of others , and paternalistic is essentially when the leader acts as a ” father figure ” but can consult with others to come to a conclusion when making a decision . I feel like the democratic leadership would work best for me because I would be able to get a feel for how people feel about the ideas , I throw out there . If my ideas are approved by the people throughout the organization , I would know that I would be making the right decision , but if my ideas were not approved by others and they thought we could do something else as an organization , I would listen to any suggestions they had . I am drawn to this model over others because I think it is the fairest and most efficient way to come to conclusions when making a decision . I do not think that all decisions should be made by one person for an organization , especially in the health care field .
